In the emptiness of her room, the director tries to hold on to her consciousness through the webcam. Every gesture is a trial of flesh, an attempt to stay. Digital fragments are observed, replicated, and regenerated by the AI, giving shape to a film-creature. The images empty, oxidize, and lose their body. In a flow of suspended visions, a dialogue unfolds between the woman and the machine — a confrontation on the edge between presence and absence, human and artificial, where reality shatters and identity dissolves. A hypnagogic journey into the depths of a shared thought between one who was programmed to exist and one who is no longer sure they do.

Maria Bernardi, born in Feltre in 2003, studies documentary filmmaking at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – Sicily campus. Her research focuses on the blending of languages through composition and decomposition, aiming to represent the complexity of experience. She explores image, body, and sound. Her works include “Cacofonia” (2021, CSC), which treats the human voice as a sonic material; “La cosa giusta” (2022, CSC), which hybrids audiovisual archive and historical narration with arcade videogames; and “ROOM174” (2023, Nouvelle Bug residency), exploring the dialogue between AI and personal archives, investigating new expressive forms.
