Antonio La Camera (1990), after graduating with honors in Cinema and Visual Arts from Roma Tre University, attended directing and screenwriting courses at the film school Sentieri Selvaggi. He was later admitted to the Advanced Course in Film Directing Fare Cinema, led by Marco Bellocchio and taught by the Manetti Bros.

His short films have been screened at over 150 national and international festivals, receiving more than 40 awards worldwide.

In 2022, he was selected for the exclusive CreatorsLab, where he shot the Italo-Spanish short film Las Memorias Perdidas de los Árboles in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest under the supervision of legendary filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Palme d’Or winner at the Cannes Film Festival. The short premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival (2023) as part of the 38th International Critics’ Week, where it won the Best Short Film Award.

The film was subsequently screened at prestigious Oscar, EFA, and Goya-qualifying festivals, including the 63rd Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival – FICCI, the 47th Drama International Short Film Festival, the 22nd Tirana International Film Festival, the 29th Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris, the 35th São Paulo International Short Film Festival – Curta Kinoforum, and was pre-selected for the 2025 Goya Awards.

His feature film project Demoni & Polvere was selected for the InProgress 2024 development lab of the Milano Film Network, where it was developed under the mentorship of Michelangelo Frammartino, Jury Prize winner at the 2021 Venice Film Festival.

In 2025, he was selected for the Locarno Spring Academy, where he directed the short film Le Mur du Son under the guidance of Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel (Berlinale winners), which will have its world premiere at the 78th Locarno Film Festival.

He is currently working on the post-production of his new short film Primo Sangue and is co-writing the feature film I Have to Fuck Before the World Ends by Andrea Benjamin Manenti.
