SYNOPSYS
Agáta, a 16-year-old girl and the outcast of her Czech village, longs to express a secret wish during the spring festival. She crafts a crown and ties her wish to it with a ribbon, hoping it will be accepted in the celebration. When she joins the other girls, they mock her, but eventually, her crown is accepted, offering her a glimmer of hope. Suddenly, however, the crown falls and breaks beyond repair. Agáta tries to fix it but, realizing it’s hopeless, rushes to the ceremony with only the ribbon, desperate to fulfill her wish. She arrives too late, and alone with her unspoken longing, she instead finds solace in the quiet beauty of nature around her.

BENEDETTA FIORE
BIOGRAPHY
Benedetta Fiore was born in 2001 in Rome, Italy. After graduating from high school, she attended a Screenplay course at Fondazione Fare Cinema by Marco Bellocchio and the Documentary and Experimental Cinema course at Cineteca of Bologna. In 2021 she won “Ustories”, an Italian filmmaking residential project where she shot “Le civette dormono in piedi”, her first short movie. She’s just finished the One Year Program in Directing Fiction at FAMU (Prague, Czech Republic). Agáta is her latest work, created as the final project of the course.
